NRC-IIT’s Visual Information Technology Group  is in the news again, this time for their work on the Mona Lisa.  The (US) National Science Foundation has awarded members of VIT and the Centre de recherche et de restauration des musées de France (C2RMF) second prize in the Informational Graphics category in the Scientific and Engineering Visualization Challenge 2006. The award is for a montage produced by VIT that depicts the information obtained by using scientific imaging technologies to analyze Leonardo da Vinci's painting.
