The NRC-IIT's Interactive Language Technologies (ILT) Group is located at the Language Technologies Research Centre (LTRC) in Gatineau, Québec. Created to strengthen the Canadian language industry in support of Canada's Action Plan on Official Languages, the LTRC is a partnership between NRC-IIT, the Université du Québec en Outaouais (UQO), the Translation Bureau of Canada (TBC) and the Language Industry Association (AILIA) and is looking forward to expand this partnership. The ILT Group works in collaboration with private sector companies, research laboratories and universities, and relies on NRC-IIT's existing knowledge base, including the Interactive Information Group, the People-Centered Technologies Group, as well as NRC-IRAP and NRC-CISTI to help accomplish its goals.
The mission of the Interactive Information Technologies Group, located in the Lucien-Brault building of UQO's campus is to collaborate with its partners and conduct language technology R&D projects aimed at meeting Canada's increasing language industry requirements and positioning the Canadian language industry as a world leader.
