Who we are

The NRC Institute for Information Technology (NRC-IIT) is made up of highly focused, dedicated and innovative individuals who share the Institute's vision of making a beneficial and profound impact on Canadian society. All are outstanding achievers who are consistently recognized by their peers for their exceptional contributions.

NRC-IIT staff consists of approximately 120 core employees, 25 invited guest workers and 35 to 40 advanced students. Under the leadership, and with the support, of the Director General, members of the NRC-IIT team:

  • conduct research;
  • work to foster and forge linkages between the Institute and potential collaborators in Canadian industry, government and academia;
  • provide administrative support to the organization; and
  • strive to communicate the Institute's successes and activities to a wide range of interested audiences.

NRC-IIT is a multi-site organization, with facilities in Ottawa, ON; Gatineau, QC; Fredericton and Moncton, NB.

NRC-IIT benefits from strategic planning advice it receives from its Advisory Board on research, technology development and transfer and innovation.
