Biography
Mike Halasz is currently Director, Ottawa Research Programs, at the NRC Institute for Information Technology (NRC-IIT). He joined the National Research Council in 1988 as a member of NRC-IIT's Knowledge Systems Laboratory where he performed research in knowledge-based aero-engine maintenance and automated fault identification methodologies.
In 1995, Mike became Group Leader of the Integrated Reasoning Group at NRC-IIT, which conducts research in applied artificial intelligence and distributed decision support for complex equipment monitoring, diagnosis, failure prediction, and repair management.
Mike received a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from McGill University (1980) and a master's in systems design engineering from the University of Waterloo (1985). |
