Biography
Dr. Youlian Pan joined IR-IIT in late 2001 as a Research Associate. Since receiving his Ph.D. (Biology, Dalhousie) in 1994, Youlian has worked for the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in USA, the Institute for Marine Biosciences of NRC, and St. Mary's University.
Youlian has recently completed a Master of Computer Science (Dalhousie, 2002) on application of artificial neural networks in gene prediction. His research interests are in artificial neural networks, data mining, and information retrieval with biological applications.
Youlian is a member of the BioMine project with specific responsibility on sequence feature analysis and its integral role in the mining of functional genomics data. |
