Biography
Marvin Zaluski is a member in the Integrated Reasoning Group at the Institute for Information Technology - National Research Council of Canada. Marvin received his B.Sc. (Hon.) with Honors at the University of Regina in Regina, Saskatchewan. Since joining the Institute for Information Technology in 1996, Marvin has been involved in the development of the knowledge management tools. Knowledge from Structured Documents is a research project that uses electronic documentation to manage knowledge bases that expert systems use. Some of the problem domains Marvin has applied his work is in the aerospace (Integrated Diagnostic System) and open pit surface mining (Intelligent Optimization for Industrial Operations.
In addition to Knowledge Management, Marvin's research interests also include Natural Language Understanding, Case-Base Reasoning, Rule Based Reasoning, and other Machine Learning techniques.
