Purpose:

The purpose of this advisory is to bring attention to the following vulnerabilities in some Microsoft Office products.

MS06-012: Vulnerabilities in Microsoft Office Could Allow Remote Code Execution

Assessment:

Multiple vulnerabilities have been reported in Microsoft Office Products.

Impact of Vulnerability: Remote Code Execution

Microsoft's Maximum Severity Rating: Critical (Office 2000 products only)

Affected Software:
- Microsoft Office 2000 Service Pack 3
- Microsoft Office XP Service Pack 3
- Microsoft Office 2003 Service Pack 1 or Service Pack 2
- Microsoft Works Suites 2000 through 2006
- Microsoft Office X for Mac
- Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac

Suggested action:

PSEPC recommends that administrators test and install the update at the earliest opportunity.
