APPOINTMENT TO THE CANADIAN HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION ANNOUNCED
OTTAWA
, September 14, 1995 -- The Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, Mr. Allan Rock, today announced the reappointment of Sigmund Reiser of Willowdale, Ontario, to the Canadian Human Rights Commission as a part-time member.

Mr. Reiser worked for 35 years for the London Life Insurance Company. He was regional manager in Montreal (1963-1968) and in Toronto (1968-1988). From 1988 to 1993, he was a Council Member of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and
a member of the Discipline Committee, an administrative tribunal dealing with complaints of professional misconduct by medical doctors.
In 1994, Mr. Reiser became Vice-President of the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario. He chaired the Complaints Committee and the Committee on Transgressions and Penalties.
Mr. Reiser has been involved with B'Nai Brith Canada and Beth Emeth Bais Yehuda Synagogue since 1968. In 1992, he received a commemorative medal marking Canada's 125th anniversary from the Governor General for service to Canadians.
This appointment is effective September 27, 1995.
