ONTARIO JUDICIAL APPOINTMENTS ANNOUNCED

OTTAWA, December 20, 1995 -- The Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, Allan Rock, today announced the following appointment:

Joseph William Quinn of Fonthill is appointed a judge of the Ontario Court (General Division) in St. Catharines. He replaces Mr. Justice F.J. Kovacs, who has chosen to become a supernumerary judge.

Mr. Justice Quinn graduated in law from Queen's University in 1970, and was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1972. He has since been practising law with the firm Flett, Beccario of Welland. He has practised mainly civil litigation. Mr. Justice Quinn is a member of the Advocates' Society.

This appointment is effective immediately.
