QUEBEC JUDICIAL APPOINTMENTS ANNOUNCED

OTTAWA, December 20, 1995 -- The Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, Allan Rock, today announced the following appointment:

Suzanne Mireault of Granby is appointed a judge of the Quebec Superior Court for the districts of Saint-François and Bedford. She replaces Mr. Justice L.-P. Galipeau, who has chosen to become a supernumerary judge.

Madam Justice Mireault received a law degree from the University of Sherbrooke in 1976 and was called to the Quebec Bar in 1977. She then practised law with Alain Gauthier in Farnham. Since 1981, she has operated a general practice focussing on civil law, family law and municipal law with the firm now known as Grignon, Brun & Mireault. Madam Justice Mireault holds a certificate as an associated member of the Association de médiation familiale du Québec.

This appointment is effective December 28, 1995.
