ONTARIO JUDICIAL APPOINTMENT ANNOUNCED

OTTAWA, May 13, 2005 - Irwin Cotler, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, today announced the following appointments:

T. David Little of St-Thomas is appointed a judge of the Superior Court of Justice of Ontario. He will be assigned to London by the Chief Justice.

Mr. Justice Little received a Bachelor of Laws from the University of New Brunswick in 1967, was admitted to the New-Brunswick Bar in 1967 and to the Ontario Bar in 1969.

At the time of his appointment, he was a partner with the firm McCarthy Tetrault and had previously acted as the managing partner of the firms London office. Mr. Justice Little has been certified as a specialist in both civil and criminal litigation by the Law Society of Upper Canada. In addition, he is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and has been an active lecturer at the Bar Admission Course, the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association and the Advocates Society.

This appointment is effective immediately.
