CANADIAN HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION APPOINTMENT ANNOUNCED
OTTAWA, February 11, 1999 -- The Honourable Anne McLellan, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada announced the appointment of Anne E. Adams of Montreal as Commissioner of the Canadian Human Rights Commission.
Ms. Adams obtained a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Montreal in 1967 and a Master in Industrial Relations from Queen's University in 1988.
Ms. Adams is President of AEA Strategies and Development Inc., a Human Resource consulting firm specialized in Employment Equity and Pay Equity issues. From 1994 to 1996, she was Director of Programs at the International Council on Social Welfare
and from 1991 to 1995, she was Executive Director of the Canadian Human Rights Foundation. Prior, she was Regional Head of the Employment Equity Program at Human Ressources Development Canada.
This appointment is effective immediately.
