CANADIAN HUMAN RIGHTS TRIBUNAL APPOINTMENTS ANNOUNCED
OTTAWA, February 11, 1999 -- The Honourable Anne McLellan, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada today announced the appointment of:
Pierre Deschamps of Montreal has been appointed part-time member of the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal. Mr. Deschamps obtained a Law degree at McGill University in 1975 and has been a member of the Quebec Bar since 1976. He has mainly
practised and taught in the areas of administrative law, health law and human rights. From 1984 to 1996, he was Counsel to the Quebec Public Curator. Also, since 1984, Mr. Deschamps is Director of Research for the Centre de recherche de droit
privé et comparé du Québec.
Sandra R. Goldstein of Ottawa has been appointed part-time member of the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal. Involved throughout her career with Human Rights issues, Ms. Goldstein has been employed at the Canadian Human Rights Commission as a
Senior Compliance Officer/Conciliator for the Anti-Discrimination Programs Branch as Chief Conciliator and Policy and Education Consultant for the Employment and Pay Equity Branch from 1992 to 1998.
These appointments are effective immediately.
