MANITOBA JUDICIAL APPOINTMENT ANNOUNCED



OTTAWA

, February 12, 1998 -- The Honourable Anne McLellan, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, today announced the following appointment:

Donald Mark Little of Brandon is appointed a judge of the Court of Queen's Bench of Manitoba (Family Division) in Winnipeg. He replaces Madam Justice C. Davidson, who passed away.

Mr. Justice Little graduated in law from the University of Manitoba in 1981 and was called to the Bar of Manitoba in 1982. Mr. Justice Little has been practising law with the firm of Roy, Johnston & Company, where he has been a partner since 1983. Mr. Justice Little has mainly practiced civil litigation, corporate and commercial law, as well as family law.

Justice Little was president of the Law Society of Manitoba, and is a past president of the Federation of Law Societies of Canada and a Life Bencher of the Law Society.

This appointment is effective immediately.
