175 eligible (First and Second Degree)
  • 74 have applied (42.3% of those eligible)
  • first review was in 1987
  • 63 reviews have been completed

3. Results of s.745 reviews (up to December 1995)

  • 13 refused reduction in parole eligibility period (20.6%)
  • 50 granted some reduction in parole eligibility period (79.4%)
    First Degree

  • 40 received some reduction in parole eligibility date
  • 18 allowed to apply for parole immediately (had served 15 or 16 years)
  • 22 given some reduction from 25-year parole eligibility date

Second Degree



  • 10 received some reduction in parole eligibility date
