High Performance Computing

C3.ca Coordination Office

The NRC Institute for Information Technology (NRC-IIT) supports C3.ca Association Inc, a national advocacy group dedicated to High Performance Computing issues in Canada, through the funding and operation of a national coordination office, the CCO.

The CCO:

provides administrative support to the C3.ca Association
manages the Technical Analyst Support Program (TASP), which helps fund technical analysts in universities across Canada in support of over 650 HPC users
manages a Workshop Program, which contributes to the funding of Canadian HPC workshops nation wide
helps coordinate the sharing of time on HPC installations across the country
supports the annual HPC conference

The C3 membership is drawn from Canadian universities, government labs and industry. C3 is currently leading the effort in developing a detailed document that will address the critical need for the opportunities, methods and benefits of a long-term strategy for High Performance Computing (HPC) in Canada.
