Information Analysis and RetrievalExtractor4SpeechThe Extractor4Speech project began in March 2001 and is ongoing. It is being conducted in collaboration with the Communications Research Centre. The project aims to develop a tool for automatically summarizing spoken documents. Researchers expect no less than to develop the world’s best automatic speech summarizer. When they do, the software will be available as a toolkit through licensing agreements. Particular applications for Extractor4Speech could include video summarization, voice-mail and videoconferencing. Ultimately, Extractor4Speech could have a significant and positive impact on the following sectors:
