People-Centred TechnologiesSystematic Methods of Tool EvaluationThe aim of the Systematic Methods of Tool Evaluation project is to investigate and develop context-sensitive, systematic methods and mechanisms for software tool evaluation. This ongoing project began at University of Glasgow in September 1996, and was relocated to NRC-IIT in November 2002. The focus of the NRC-IIT development of this research is to extend the investigation beyond its current focus on user interface development tools (UIDTs) to look at other software artefacts. The research results of this project would allow decision making across any artefact through the generalization of the current system. Impact of ResearchResearch results currently impact on the software engineering community – in particular, the user interface development facet of software projects. Ultimately, these results could support systematic, repeatable, auditable decision-making across many domains. Opportunities
