NRC Scans of Cuneiform Tablets from Stanford University

1998 - Stanford, USA

The following page shows snapshots of color 3D models produced from the cuneiform tablets sent to NRC for high-resolution 3D scanning by Prof. Marc Levoy of Stanford University . The 3D polygonal models were produced from scans using the High-Resolution Color Laser Scanner with a lateral resolution (sampling) of 50 µm. Many images were required to obtain good coverage of the cuneiform cavities. These scans were then merged into a triangular mesh of 50 µm of side length.
