Artificial Intelligence TechnologiesAutomated Case Based Reasoning (CBR)Automated Case Creation and case base management is one of the most important tasks in case-based reasoning systems for real-world problems. The general goal of the CBR project is to develop a system that is able to create and verify maintenance cases using a mostly automated process, and to develop a Java-based case-based reasoning engine that can be applied to other CBR applications. Specifically, the aim of this project is extract maintenance actions and related symptoms from Air Canada flight and operations data, to prepare 'cases' that document these historical relationships. The cases capture the maintenance expertise of Air Canada and best maintenance practices that should be followed by all personnel. This is done by applying natural language processing and case based reasoning technologies, and with as little human intervention as possible. The normal effort required to create such case bases is significantly reduced. Research ContactDr. Chunsheng Yang Business ContactDr. George Forester |
