Artificial Intelligence TechnologiesAeroSpace Data Miner (ADAM)The aim of ADAM project is to develop an easy to use domain specific software system that integrates data mining and monitoring techniques to support maintenance and operation of commercial aircraft. ADAM will provide three types of services:
The system will make use of various sources of information such as: automatically generated reports (containing parametric data), automatically generated messages, and snag reports. ADAM is designed to work as an on-line or off-line system to provide the above support. ADAM uses Machine Learning and Statistical techniques to search for patterns and trends in the data to generate alerts. This is to inform the users about a possible situation (e.g. a particular engine component may fail or the operation of an engine is abnormal). The ADAM software has been evaluated, based on some case studies and as an off-line system, by 11 of Air Canada's fleet specialists and engineers. The results of off-line evaluation have been very positive. We are currently working on preparing ADAM for deployment at Air Canada and on-line evaluation by their staff. Some of the benefits of ADAM are:
