Critical infrastructure protection

Critical infrastructure consists of physical and information technology facilities, networks, services and assets that are critical to the well-being, operations and continuity of our country. At PSEPC, we fund research and work with private sector partners to protect national critical infrastructure.

• About critical infrastructure
  Our national critical infrastructure is made up of ten sectors including energy, transportation and health care.
  
• Joint Infrastructure Interdependencies Research Program
  In partnership with the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), this program funds cross-disciplinary research on infrastructure interdependencies for a term of up to three years.
  
• National Critical Infrastructure Assurance Program
  To help prevent interruptions of essential services like water and utilities, PSEPC is developing a national framework with critical infrastructure owners and operators.
  
• Situational awareness
  Information about potential threats to Canada’s critical infrastructure as well as in-depth analysis of past incidents.
