Interactive Language TechnologiesPriorities of the Language Technologies Research Centre (LTRC) were defined through industry round table sessions, direct feedback from industry and other research groups, and through its participation in the Technology Roadmap process under the leadership of the Language Industry Association (AILIA). Within the LTRC, the NRC Interactive Language Technologies group focuses its current R&D activities in the first two areas above, and is in the process of evaluating possible involvement in the third area. As for speech processing, the NRC actively pursues projects in its application but leaves research activities proper to specialized Canadian R&D groups.
