Applying For Permanent Residence — Protected Persons
and Convention Refugees
This application is for persons in Canada who have been determined
to be protected persons or Convention Refugees by the Immigration and
Refugee Board, or by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and wish to apply
for permanent residence in Canada.
This form is not for refugees living outside Canada. Find more
information about Canada’s
Refugee and Humanitarian Resettlement Program.

You have two options to obtain a fees receipt:
- Payment of fees on the Internet
If you have Adobe® Acrobat Reader software, a printer, and a Visa, MasterCard
or American Express credit card, you can pay
your fees on-line.
- Payment of fees at a financial institution in Canada
If you cannot or do not wish to pay on-line, you must obtain an original
receipt form IMM 5401 in order to pay at a financial institution.
This form is not available on the Web site because an original receipt
with a unique serial number must be used. You may order
an original receipt by mail.
If you cannot view and print this application from this Web site
we can mail it to you. Place
an order for an application if you need it mailed. Be certain
that you need this application before placing an order. The delivery
of this application may take several weeks. The Fees Receipt will
be included and does not have to be ordered separately.
