Community Futures Development Corporations (CFDCs) take a grassroots approach
to community and economic development outside major cities. Each of
the 90 CFDCs across Western Canada deliver a variety of services, ranging
from strategic economic planning, technical and advisory services to businesses,
loans to small and medium-sized businesses, self-employment assistance programs
and services targeted to youth and entrepreneurs with disabilities.
The Community Futures Network Society of Alberta (CFNSA) is designed to support 27 Community Futures Development Corporations (CFDCs) in Alberta. This organization promotes the Community Futures program internally and externally, not the specific CFDCs. It also provides support services which include developing more global contacts and programs to benefit all CFDCs.
