Canada Business is managed through federal-provincial agreements that provide a single, seamless gateway to information for businesses. In Western Canada, these centres are part of Western Economic Diversification Canada’s (WD) business service network, and have offices in Vancouver, Edmonton, Saskatoon and Winnipeg.
Canada Business maintains an extensive database of business and trade information from federal, provincial, municipal and non-government sources in order to provide fast, accurate and comprehensive information on a wide variety of programs, services and regulations. This wealth of data can be accessed for free by telephone or through the Internet at www.canadabusiness.gc.ca People interested in starting or growing a business can also call or visit a business information specialist in person. Or, they can research business information at the libraries in the various Canada Business service centres.
These centres also provide topical business seminars, on-line business products such as the Interactive Business Planner and a useful collection of business Info Guides. Services are also available in rural and northern communities, through a network of regional Canada Business service centres and Aboriginal service sites in Western Canada.
