Canada-Saskatchewan Northern Development Agreement
The Government of Canada supports the sustainable development of northern resources. WD is implementing federal government initiatives to ensure healthier and stronger communities in Western Canada.
The Northern Development Agreement is building northern Saskatchewan's economy through investments in training and practical skills , creating business expertise and expanding the labour force.
The Government of Canada and the Province of Saskatchewan have committed $10 million each over five years for economic development initiatives.
Other initiatives supported through the Agreement include improvements to the Athabasca seasonal road, research into value-added woodland products and expansion of high-speed Internet service to more than 30 northern communities.
