Warman Centennial Park opens

Warman, Saskatchewan — On behalf of the Honourable Carol Skelton, Minister of Minister of National Revenue and Western Economic Diversification (WD), Maurice Vellacott, Member of Parliament for Saskatoon—Wanuskewin, today announced that the Town of Warman will open its new community park, funded through the Government of Canada’s Canada Celebrates Saskatchewan Centennial initiative.

The $69,620 WD contribution has provided the park with benches, lighting, new sod, landscaping and an irrigation system.

“Canada’s New Government is proud to contribute almost $70,000 to the Town of Warman to build and furnish this new park,” said Vellacott. “This is an excellent initiative to commemorate Saskatchewan’s centennial year. Warman families will be able to use this park today and for generations to come.”

Canada Celebrates Saskatchewan was a community-based, grassroots initiative designed to commemorate Saskatchewan’s 100th birthday. A province-wide initiative, it enabled communities to undertake capital projects to improve or upgrade civic facilities and create a permanent legacy of the province’s centennial for future generations.

The Town of Warman will be holding the grand opening of the park on Sunday, September 10th at 1:00 p.m.
