Steve Ashton,
Government of Manitoba
Mayor of Winnipeg, Sam Katz

The governments of Canada, Manitoba and Winnipeg share a strong history of working together to increase Winnipeg’s prosperity and enhance its citizens’ quality of life. The Winnipeg Partnership Agreement (WPA) builds on that foundation.

The three levels of government have committed a total of $75 million over five years as a long-term investment to address Winnipeg’s economic and social issues, and to expand the opportunities that a knowledge-based economy presents.

Developed in collaboration with Winnipeg residents, the WPA ensures that the three levels of government offer a single access window that strengthens and supports long-term, sustainable community and economic development.

Together as a community, we are using our resources to revitalize our neighbourhoods and downtown core. Together, we are supporting community-based solutions to the economic and social challenges of Aboriginal people living in Winnipeg. Together, we are promoting innovative and technology-based initiatives that contribute to a better Winnipeg. And together, we are ensuring a healthy and vibrant Winnipeg where all citizens can access and contribute to a full range of economic and social opportunities.
