National Programs

Canada Small Business Financing Program
The Canada Small Business Financing program is a joint initiative between the Government of Canada and chartered financial institutions in which the government partially offsets losses on loans to small businesses to encourage financial institutions to make financing more accessible to small businesses.

The program assists new and existing businesses with term loans of up to $250,000. Funds can be used for land, building, equipment or leasehold improvements (not working capital). Interest rates cannot be more than 3% above the bank's prime lending rate. For information on eligibility, terms and conditions, visit Industry Canada's Strategis website.
