Adult Probation

Offenders placed on probation are under the supervision of Justice probation officers. Different probation conditions are tracked and managed by probation officers to ensure public safety.

Bankruptcy

If you decide to file for bankruptcy, a trustee must handle the process. The Registrar in Bankruptcy ensures that bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings are conducted in a fair and orderly manner.

Community and Correctional Services

This branch provides custody and supervision of adult offenders. It also provides programming and services to offenders and victims to help with offender integration back into the community.

Community Justice

Contributes to the protection of society and the health of communities and individuals through community based justice initiatives. Together with the Yukon First Nations and Yukon communities, the department is involved in a number of community justice programs and committees.

Community Justice and Public Safety

The Community Justice and Public Services Branch offers community justice initiatives, crime prevention programs, and Justice related funding programs and public services for Yukoners.

Court Registries

The Court Registry handles fine payments, court ordered maintenance payments and other court administration services. There is a Court Registry located in Whitehorse, Dawson City and Watson Lake Yukon.

Justice Funding Programs

The Department of Justice offers a number of funding programs in partnership with other Government of Yukon Departments and agencies. Funding programs include the Kids Recreation Fund; Crime Prevention and Victim Services Trust Fund; and the Youth Investment Fund.

Victim Services / Family Violence Prevention

Support services are offered to victims of crime, and victims of family violence. Rehabilitative programs are also offered to offenders and abusive spouses.
