How to Partner

Defence R&D; Canada's wealth of expertise and unique facilities positions it well for engaging in collaborative ventures with both the private and public sectors. Such ventures may include: contributions in-kind towards a common objective; joint applications for external funding from national and international granting agencies; shared cost initiatives in pursuing a common R&D; objective; and exchanges of personnel at the cost of the parent employer.

Defence R&D; Canada transfers some of its technologies to the private sector through licensing. If you are interested in learning what is available please contact Defence R&D; Canada's Business Development Office at corp.bdo-bda@drdc-rddc.gc.ca.

R&D; Contracts

Defence R&D; Canada contracts are managed by Public Works and Government Services Canada. Tenders are located on the Merx web site, an electronic tendering service for federal and provincial governments.

Fee-for-service for Use of Facilities or Services

Defence R&D; Canada facilities are available for use on a case-by-case basis, consistent with its existing R&D; requirements and federal government policies. The facilities are available on a cost-recovery basis which means that the requesting external client must pay for the use of the facilities. Defence R&D; Canada scientists and technicians are available to the private sector to be used as sub-contractors and/or expert consultants. In these instances, Defence R&D; Canada resources must be made available to any and all Canadian contractors under equal opportunity and equivalent terms and conditions of payment. Collaboration
