Who We Are

The Defence Research and Development Advisor, Paris (DRDA Paris) is a member of the Defence Section at the Canadian Embassy in Paris, located at 35, avenue Montaigne, 75008 Paris.

What We Do

The Defence Research and Development Advisor (Paris) maintains close professional relations with key defence research and technology organizations in France's General Delegation for Armaments (DGA), as well as the defence industry in France. In addition, the Advisor represents and sees to the interests of the Canadian scientific community at Defence R&D; Canada. The DRDA's primary functions include:

Promoting cooperation

Promoting cooperation between France and Canada through scientific and technical relations, identification of common scientific interests, defence R&T; cooperation program development and personnel exchange.

Providing strategic level advice

Developing reports and providing strategic advice on France's defence research program and policies of interest to Defence R&D; Canada.

Coordinating a research and technology cooperation program

Coordinating a R&T; cooperation program with France, including monitoring results optimization, based mainly on specific arrangements and personnel exchange.
