All employees have access to a wide range of professional development programs ranging from courses designed to enhance management and leadership skills to other specialized and critical core competencies.

Research Environment

Our world-class research centres are equipped with a broad range of sophisticated equipment and unique facilities. Each centre provides a multi-disciplinary team approach to research which promotes the sharing of knowledge and experience among defence scientists, as well as providing opportunities to acquire new skills and explore new scientific disciplines.

Research is carried out in small interdependent teams designed to provide a stimulating environment that encourages and recognizes both team accomplishments and individual successes.

Research assignments are structured to provide realistic levels of achievement, tangible evidence of progress, and to recognize the contributions of individuals.

Many assignments offer the opportunity to follow a project through from its conception to the technology transfer stage, which precedes commercial production.
