Canada's Scientific and Trade Mission to Egypt

Take part in the Canada-Finland Earth observation trade mission

October 2 to 5, 2006

The Canadian Space Agency and TEKES have organized a trade mission to Finland. It is to showcase the complementary strengths of Canada and Finland in Earth observation and promote technology transfer between the two countries.

The formation of networking and commercial partnerships between Canadian and Finnish organizations is one aim. There are presentations of four ongoing projects under the CSA-TEKES agreement and of the purpose and conditions of the upcoming CSA/TEKES request for proposals. A polarimetry workshop for RADARSAT-2 functionalities is offered. Registration is free, except for the RADARSAT-2 workshop.

Exhibition space reserved by the Agency can be shared with several companies. For more information, please contact Denis Auger at denis.auger@space.gc.ca, Lyse Champagne at lyse.chamgagne@space.gc.ca or Nelson Kalil at nelson.kalil@space.gc.ca.

OceanSAR

October 23 to 25, 2006

The registration system and workshop program for OceanSAR 2006 are now online. The third workshop on Coastal and Marine Applications of Synthetic Aperture Radar is in St. John's, N.L.

Previous workshop participants identified the need for a set of robust tools for systematic marine monitoring and operational applications. OceanSAR 2006 will build on these recommendations as scientists present their current research findings and maritime end-users present their operational information needs. The Canadian Space Agency, the Canadian Ice Service, C-CORE, and MDA are organizing the event.
