The Canadian Gas Association is the voice of
Canada 's natural gas delivery industry. CGA members are gas distribution companies, transmission companies, related equipment manufacturers, and other service providers involved in the delivery of natural gas in Canada and the United States.


CGA Members Produce Influenza Pandemic Guide (December, 2006) - The guide was developed by a task force working on emergency preparedness issues. This document is designed to provide guidance to CGA member companies on how to prepare a plan that will minimize the risk that an influenza pandemic poses to the health and safety of employees and the continuity of business operations. CGA Responds to Clean Air Act (December14 , 2006)  CGA provided comments on the Clean Air Act,  the “Notice of Intent to Develop and Implement Regulations and Other Measures to Reduce Air Emissions”, and the discussion paper “Improving the Health of Canadians and their Environment through an Integrated, Nationally Consistent Approach to Reducing Industrial Air Emissions”.  (Formal Response)

Canadian Gas Association to Celebrate 100th Anniversary (September 26, 2006) The Canadian Gas Association launched its 100th anniversary logo and preliminary details on the association's plans to mark the occasion.  (News Release)

CGA Presents "'Smart Gas' Proposals for Canada" to House of Commons Finance Committee (Sept. 21, 2006) Mike Cleland, President and Chief Executive Officer, presented the association's submission to the House of Commons Finance Committee deliberations on the 2007/08 federal budget.  The submission titled “’Smart Gas’ Proposals for Canada” describes how the distinctive capabilities of natural gas and the natural gas delivery industry can meet Canada’s energy service needs and help achieve environmental goals. Natural Gas Fuel Switching: A Smart Strategy to Meet Canada's Future Energy Service Needs (July 2006) - This paper outlines the benefits of fuel switching opportunities involving natural gas and possible policy options to facilitate the introduction of fuel switching into the economy. [ PDF ]

CGA Letter to Public Consultations on the Énergie Cacouna (May 31, 2006)  Read the letter submitted to the public consultation process on the Énergie Cacouna project for a liquefied natural gas terminal (LNG).  The objective of the letter was to provide some general comments on the importance of LNG as part of Quebec’s energy future. CGA Responds to Ontario Power Authority Report (January 2006)  In December 2005, the Ontario Power Authority (OPA) released a report on the medium and long-term fuel mix in Ontario.  At the time CGA issued a news release providing some initial comment.  On February 2nd, CGA responded formally to the report.  Both the formal repsonse and news release are available.
