As part of the Smart Regulation Initiative, the Privy Council Office is reviewing and updating the Government of Canada Regulatory Policy by developing a Government Directive on Regulating (Directive).

The Directive will strengthen federal regulatory governance by making clear commitments to Canadians on how we regulate, and by outlining clear analytical and process responsibilities for departments and agencies at all stages of regulatory management, including development, implementation, evaluation and review.
