Responsible SAR service in the park. The Resource Conservation Function personnel receive training in the following areas: emergency first aid, wilderness first aid, water rescue, wilderness survival, horsemanship, hasty team, search management and orienteering/GPS navigation. Mutual aid agreements with Onanole, Dauphin and Erikson Fired Departments to share resources and expertise when responding to emergencies. Resources include: 15 horses, several all-terrain vehicles with a rescue wagon, snowmobiles with a rescue toboggan and 14 pick-up trucks. A helicopter may be available within an hour. Approximately 20 Park Wardens and Resource Conservation Function staff with SAR capabilities.
