Manages three national parks: Ivvavik, established in 1984; Aulavik, established in 1992; and Tuktut Nogait, established in 1996. Staff receive training in first aid, CPR, river rafting safety, and other SAR techniques. Some members receive search management training. Works with the RCMP and the CCG when responding to SAR events. Publishes a variety of material relating to wilderness and wildlife safety. Eight staff with SAR capabilities.
