Consists of 181 Squadrons in 17 Districts across Canada. Membership requires the successful completion of the Boating Course, a 39-hour training course that teaches boat safety, elementary chart reading, and adherence to government safety regulations. Teaches safety courses to the public and local community groups, and offers a Radio Operator's Certificate course for Industry Canada. Bilingual services. Founded 1938. Nine full-time and two part-time staff. Twenty-nine thousand members.
