The objective of the CCG SAR program is to prevent loss of life and injury through SAR operations. SAR operations are coordinated through Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centres (JRCCs) located in Halifax, Trenton, and Victoria. These centres are staffed jointly by the CCG and DND personnel. The CCG also operates two Maritime Rescue Sub-centres (MRSCs)in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador and Québec City, Québec. These rescue centres have at their disposal the resources of the CCG, other government organizations, and a number of volunteer groups, including the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary (CCGA), which is coordinated by the CCG. The centres can also task any necessary private or commercial vessels. Bilingual services. Has a number of regional offices:
