Working in SAR since 1978, the volunteer members of the CCGA(Pacific) are trained to Coast Guard standards in marine Search and Rescue techniques, and provide an on-call marine rescue service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Members also promote SAR prevention by coordinating boating safety education events. SAR resources include over 230 vessels, and over 1300 volunteer members. RCC Victoria tasks CCGA(P) members.
