Deer Lake Search and Rescue Team

Members are experienced in forest, water, and crime scene searches. Provides backup support for Gros Morne National Park. Has an agreement with the RCMP. Members receive training from the RCMP, the CCG, and the National Park Warden Service in various techniques, and water and rope rescue. Receives financial assistance from the Town of Deer Lake. Active member of the Deer Lake Emergency Planning Committee and Deer Lake Airport Emergency Plan. Resources include a mobile command vehicle, a mobile kitchen, a headquarters building, and a 2-bay garage. Founded 1983. Fifty-five active volunteer members.
