Members are experienced in sea rescue and are trained in boat rescue. Receives specialized training from the CCG and DFO. Assignments are controlled by the CCG. The service publishes several brochures. Resources include 1100 boats. Founded 1978. Three thousand five hundred volunteer members. Five regional chapters.
