Trained scientists in state-of-the-art laboratories are not the only
ones who do science experiments; they can be done by anyone, anywhere - even
by you in your own house! If you are on a quest for some exciting
experiments - you have come to the right place.

Aerodynamical Flight
Scientists: Weymouth, Michael Lombardi and Jorge Lopez from the
Marc Garneau Collegiate Institute in Don Mills, Ontario (winners of a
CSA contest).
Experiment: Aerodynamical Flight
Mission: Performed by Bob Thirsk during his
space mission in 1996
Details: In this experiment the students sent
five paper
airplanes into space (one classic and four modified with globs of
toothpaste, etc.). The students theorized that their planes would
perform very differently in the shuttle than they did in their
classroom. |

Try it!
Build a classic paper plane and analyze how it flies.
Then build four
additional planes and analyze their flight patterns given that one has a glob
of toothpaste on one wing only, another has a glob on each wing, etc.

KidSpace Ideas Network and share them with us!
