ARCA Mandate

The Alberta Recreational Canoe Association (ARCA) was formed in 1973 by the paddling clubs of Alberta to address the needs of the recreational paddlers in Alberta. Over the years the Alberta Recreational Canoe Association (ARCA) has developed many programs to meet these needs, in conjunction with other organizations and through its own resources.

ARCA's primary goals are:

• To promote recreational paddling (individuals and clubs)
• To serve the needs of recreational paddlers
• To advocate the sustainability of the paddling environment, and
• To promote the teaching of safe and enjoyable paddling

ARCA offers memberships to paddling clubs, not-for-profit groups, commercial organizations and interested individuals. Membership benefits include access to subsidies and grants, networking opportunities with clubs and organizations across the province, access to competitive liability and property insurance and participation in environmental issues affecting our paddling environment.
