June 24, 2006 to February 4, 2007 Chicoutimi, Quebec Opening of exhibition - Space Odyssey: The Canadian Adventure

The opening ceremony for the new exhibit Space Odyssey: The Canadian Adventure at the Pulperie de Chicoutimi museum takes place on June 27 with the participation of the Canadian Space Agency's Benoît Marcotte, Director of Operations Engineering and program manager for the Canadian Space Station Program.

Students of all university levels may take part. Although of interest to students in space studies, those in related fields (e.g. engineering, law, medicine, etc.) have become involved and are welcome to apply. The theme of the 57th IAC is "Bringing Space Closer to People." For more information, visit the IAC Web site.

NOVEMBER 2006
Date Location Event
10 Ottawa, Ontario Canada's Priorities and the RADARSAT Constellation

A workshop will be held on November 10, 2006, to discuss how key government priorities in maritime surveillance, disaster management, and ecosystem monitoring can be addressed through Canada's upcoming C-band radar satellite mission, the RADARSAT Constellation. Senior managers in policy, operations, and science, with an interest in these and environmental and natural resource management issues have a stake in the discussions on the use of RADARSAT C-band data.

Natural Resources Canada's Earth Sciences Sector and the Canadian Space Agency are hosting the workshop and will review the results of the mission's Phase A industry study and present the work of the interdepartmental User and Science Team, which developed user requirements for each of the key user communities.

This one-day workshop for federal government users will take place in Ottawa at Camsell Hall, 580 Booth Street, Ottawa, Ontario. For more information, please contact: Anna Reka at anna.reka@athenaglobal.com.
