Members are experienced in aeromedical transport and receive education via monthly training sessions. Members include physicians, paramedics, and nurses. Tasked by the RCMP, and Edmonton and Calgary police forces as required. Receives funding from the provincial government and through private fundraising initiatives. Publishes a quarterly newsletter and produces various educational material. Member of CAATS and AAMS. Resources include four fully equipped medical helicopters with a reaction time of eight minutes from dispatch to lift off. Founded 1985. Flight crews consist of 100 members in Calgary and 100 members in Edmonton.
