President of the Treasury Board to speak on the Public Service Modernization Act


OTTAWA, November 6, 2003 – The Honourable Lucienne Robillard, President of the Treasury Board of Canada and Member of Parliament for Westmount - Ville-Marie, will speak on November 7, 2003, on the Government of Canada's new Public Service Modernization Act.

The new Act, approved by the Senate this week, is the first major overhaul of the government's human resources management in 35 years. It is designed to modernize staffing, labour relations, learning and human resources management in the public service to meet the changing needs of Canadians.
