Rates of Pay for Students - January 1, 2004
As a sign of our continued commitment to attracting high calibre youth to work in the Public Service, the Secretary of the
Treasury Board has recently approved new rates of pay for all salaried Student Employment Programs, effective January 1, 2004. The
new rates reflect a 2.5% increase on the 2003 rates of pay. This increase is equal to that received by some groups of employees in
the federal Public Service.
Attached is a summary of the changes that will take effect on January 1, 2004. They should be communicated immediately to all
managers planning to hire students in 2004.
